SSC Examination Latest Pattern 2017 - 2018

SSC examinations are conducted every year by Staff Selection Commission’s. SSC examinations are often referred to as SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC MTS which is held to recruit staff to various posts in ministries departments and other bodies of the Government of India. It is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for choosing worker for various Group B and Group C posts.

Here we know that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examinations. It is one of the Most Important Exams conducted By SSC in Every Financial Year. They are held for employing to innumerable posts into the Central Government and its numerous branches. These exams are held at the national level.

Criteria:

  • Education: Candidate’s Graduation qualification must be from a recognized university in any stream.
  • Age Limit: Candidate’s age must be between 18 to 27 years old to be qualified for this examination
  • Citizenship: Candidates have to an Indian citizen. Then only they will be allowed to sit for the examination.
SSC Application Form:

Candidates have to submit the application forms only through online method. Candidates are requested to fill up all details carefully in the application form. They are also guided to keep the print out of correctly filled application form for future need.

Examination Pattern

There are four main stages through which the candidates have to pass through. Every candidate has to pass these stages successfully. Examination will be conducted in four tiers as given
  • Tier –I: As per latest pattern of Tier I in SSC CGL 2017 there will be 100 Questions in 60 Minute. Aspirants Need to work hard to clear Prelims Examination. 
  • Tier-II: Every candidate has to go through written examination which includes multiple choices questions after clearing the Tier I Examination. These exams are computer based examinations. As per Latest Pattern there will be 200 Questions Each in English & Quantitative Aptitude
  • Tier -III: Every candidate has to go through Descriptive Test after Clearing Tier II i.e Mains Examination. 
  • Tier -IV: In this last stage every candidate has to go through Data Entry Skill Test/Computer Skill Test.

SSC Tier I Exam Pattern:

  • Candidates have to face MCQ type of question and will be conducted through online process.
  • The question paper will be divided into 4 sections- General intelligence & reasoningGeneral Awareness/GKQuantitative aptitude & English comprehension.
  • The total marks in this examination will be 200 marks. There will be 100 questions altogether. The duration of the examination will be 60 minutes.
  • There will be negative marking for every wrong answer i.e. of 0.50 marks will be deducted.

SSC Tier II Exam Pattern:

  • Similar to Tier-I candidates will have to attain MCQ type of question through online process.
  • The question paper will be divided into 4 sections- Quantitative ability (Paper I), English language & Comprehension (Paper II), Statistics (Paper III) & General studies (Paper IV Finance & Economics).
  • The total marks in this examination will be 200 marks. Candidates will get 2 hours to complete their examination.
  • There will be negative marking for every wrong answer in paper II, i.e. of 0.50 marks will be deducted.

Syllabus

General Intelligence & Reasoning:
The question pattern in this section comprises of all type of objective questions in form of MCQ. In this section question comes from Arithmetic, General Science, General Awareness and General Intelligence and Reasoning part. This also includes the series and consequences hidden in question and reasoning made out from series of events.  This may include Coding-Decoding, Decision making, mirror image, Alphabets series, blood relation and many more
General Awareness: 
This portion comprises of the recent question pattern of the facts that are happening around us all the time. It is done to test the knowledge of the candidates and their ability for the job position. This portion includes Current Affairs, GK knowledge, and important days/dates and so on.
Quantitative Aptitude: 
Candidates have to attain this question to prove their ability. Questions come from various ground, such as-Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, bar diagram & Pie chart, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance and so on.
English Comprehension:
Lastly candidates have to prove their ability in comprehension portion. Candidate have to  writing and use their ability to understand correct language which includes- grammar, idioms &phrases, a common error, sentence correction, fill in the blanks etc.

Cut-off Marks

Every candidate has to secure minimum marks to clear both the levels of SSC CGL Tier-I as well as Tier-II. Candidates have to qualify Tier-I then only he/she is qualified to appear for SSC CGL Tier-II. After qualifying the Tier-III candidate has to face the final round which comprises computer skill test or the skill test.
